The Next Round of QE Is Coming
There's been a lot of discussion about a potential Federal Reserve pivot in its interest rate hikes and quantitative easing tightening policies, yet less talk about the mechanics of the Fed's actions and why it's almost guaranteed that there will be more QE in the future.
So in today's show, Dave Kranzler talks with banking expert John Titus, who explains the differences in the various quantitative easing programs that have occurred since they began in 2008, and where the money has actually gone each time.
John also talks about what's happened in the banking system as the Fed's been raising rates, and why it hasn't had as much of an impact on bringing inflation down as the Fed has hoped. He compares the current profile to what happened when the Fed was raising interest rates in 2018, and explains why the Fed will ultimately be forced into bailing out the financial system in the not too distant future.
