The era of zero interest rates is long gone, and annual interest payments on the $31.6 trillion debt load are up 41% since last year (of course, the fastest rate of increase ever), and fast approaching the $1 trillion mark. Consumer prices aren't slowing their ascent, and so Powell can do nothing but squeeze the Treasury even further.
