As you regular readers know, Gold’s weekly parabolic trend confirmed flipping from Long to Short at the close of trading back on 26 May per the August (now front month) contract price of 1963.  Since then, price has barely been lower than 1950 and instead briefly...

Last week ended with a very strong advance on Friday. I was hoping there would be some follow through this week on last Friday’s advance, but that wasn’t to be. Still, the Dow Jones gained 114 points (0.34%) from last week, and that is better than a big decline.

This article is a primer on the Chinese gold market, more specifically the Shanghai International Gold Exchange (SGEI). The SGEI facilitates “offshore” gold trading in renminbi and can play a crucial role in de-dollarization, as it allows countries to use renminbi...

Precious metals markets are getting a bit of a lift this week as investors anticipate a pause in the Federal Reserve’s rate-hiking campaign.

In economics we often talk about cycles. “Business cycle theory” is an entire academic sub-field whose basic idea is that economic history really does repeat itself. Not in every detail, of course, but as a recurring sequence of expansions and recessions.

The big news is, of course, the worst wildfire season in Canadian history. Even though it has only just begun, it is already deeply engulfing major US cities from the Midwest to the Atlantic in an apocalyptic, “blood moon,” painful-to-breathe atmosphere of smoke.

In today's video I'm going to take a look at the dollar, what I think is going on here, and how I think it's impacting the metals.

Gold sector cycle is down. Trend is mixed. COT data supports overall higher gold prices. A correction is in progress but may be ending. We are holding core positions and hedged.

It's not very often we can track hyperinflation in real time. It is a golden (pun intended) and silver opportunity to see what actually happens so we know what to expect when it hits the bigger currencies, which it absolutely will.

Gold, silver, and their miners’ stocks suffer their weakest seasonals of the year in early summers.  With traders’ attention normally diverted to vacations and summer fun, interest in and demand for precious metals usually wane.  Without outsized investment demand,...

Here are today's videos and charts.

In our previous article outlining the key players in the precious metals market, we highlighted global central banks as being one of the main driving forces behind gold’s rising demand.

Look, NFTRH projected the rally back in Q4, 2022. Therefore, this post is not coming from a perma-anything. It is coming from someone trying to be a realist. If the history of the last two major cyclical bear markets holds true, another one is out in the not too...

Economist Peter St Onge joins us to discuss the recent debt ceiling deal and its implications for the US economy. We review the hidden truths behind the fear campaigning and the impact on inflation.

I received an interesting follow up question from Heath B. He says, “This is a follow up question for the post you wrote about ‘Why Does the Federal Reserve Target 2% Inflation?’

Egon explains how the West’s debt is being increased exponentially, and that it’s only a matter of time before the bubble pops. The U.S. debt has doubled every eight years, and by 2025, is expected to reach around $40 trillion.

Most investors are not aware that the real estate versus gold debate is fallacious. This is referring to that misleading belief that an investor choose to invest in either real estate or gold. That these two timeless assets cannot logically coexist within the same...

It’s no secret that central banks around the world are buying up gold. In the first three months of the year, central banks bought a combined 228 tonnes, the most ever seen in a first quarter, World Gold Council data revealed.

If I had to distill the stock market down to two primary words, I would likely choose “emotion” and “risk.” Whenever you approach the market, one of the main factors which should drive any decision you make is the question of how much risk you want to take at any...

In this spritely conversation with The Market Sniper’s Francis Hunt, Matterhorn Asset Management, AG partner, Matthew Piepenburg, discusses a changing global landscape and gold’s critical role in a macro backdrop whose historical (and cyclical) end-game he describes...

Ted Oakley returns to the show, and this time, we discuss the economic impact of the recent debt ceiling deal and the Federal Reserve's dilemma. He shares insights on the relationship between bond prices and precious metals, particularly gold and silver.

From an index reading of 53% in June, 2022 to 47% today, the sector has declined steadily but in the absence of full recognition of the oncoming economic recession, there is no washout. Just steady decline and steady leadership to where we are going. The Good Ship...

In recent days, sound money champion Congressman Alex Mooney (R-WV) introduced H.R. 3712, the Digital Dollar Pilot Prevention Act – legislation that would block the Fed from unilaterally pursuing any form of central bank digital currency (CBDC) scheme.

Very little happened in the precious metals market yesterday, but something major happened in stocks. And it has important implications for PMs.

There are many reasons to own lots of gold and silver (and mining stocks). De-dollarization, stagflation, empire transition, rampant debt, etc. The list is substantial. These are fundamental drivers of the gold price for the long term… meaning not just years or...

The best-performing precious metal for the week was silver, up 1.48%. snapping a three-week losing streak. Despite the decline in gold prices due to mixed U.S. jobs data and expectations of further interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve in recent weeks, gold is...

Let's start out with a dose of pure honesty. Newmont (NYSE:NEM) is a giant. In fact, it's a giant-diversified octopus of a corporation with operations on four continents. In the first quarter of 2023, it produced 1.27 million gold ounces and 288K GEOs (gold...

America may now be entering the part of the inflation cycle nobody likes. The feeling of prosperity cultivated by COVID stimulus payments, expanded unemployment benefits and student loan forbearance is wearing off.

The Bureau of Labor Statistic (BLS) released new jobs data on Friday. According to the report, seasonally adjusted total nonfarm jobs rose 339,000 jobs in May, well above forecasts. The unemployment rate rose slightly from 3.4 percent to 3.7 percent (month over...
